Summer Thaw in Full Force - Everything is Turning Green!
Photos from the Round Valley Trail on San Jacinto
Near Palm Springs California

Our favorite lunch spot on the rocks overlooking Round Valley Meadow.
This spot is a short hike from the Tram Station (About 2 miles).
Parts of the The Round Valley Meadow are full of very small
yellow flowers that turn the meadow yellow.
Found this butterfly along the trail.
The larger flowers in Long Valley are starting to bloom.
Long Valley is located right below the Tram station.

7/1/98 Trail update - The trail between the tram and Round Valley is clear. This is a great time to come up, as the creeks are full and the waterfalls are the best they have been in a long long time. As readers know, this is a beautiful area, but with all the water, it is truly exceptional. Round valley is green and spring is now here. Temp at tram station a nice 70 degrees. In addition to the butterflies, the Ladybugs have come out. For a few weeks they appear, and are everywhere. Ladybugs don't bother people. Its worth the trip just to see them. They are too small and fast for my camera, but believe me, they are
something to behold. There must be ten's of thousands of them.
