Wildlife Photos of Coyotes in
Joshua Tree National Park

Coyote Photographing wildlife is a mixture of persistence and luck. Today, luck won out as we saw this fellow on the trail before he saw us.
A second later, he saw us. We were still a good distance away. We froze, and I kept taking pictures. Would he run, or let me get a few more shots.
I kept still, and he relaxed. Although a Coyote looks like a dog, they are wild, and you never know what they will do. We kept our distance. This is why I carry a telephoto camera.

He checked his escape route to the left.

Then checked his escape route to the right.
jt02ph04.jpg (13573 bytes) He then looked right at us, and trotted off as I loaded another roll of film. Not being the type to chase animals, he went his way, we went ours, just happy to have seen him in his element.
Coyotes are wild animals. Always keep your distance. Do not try to feed or pet them.
