Bob and Nancy Ulrich's Day Hiking Adventures with photos in Joshua Tree National Park Report #JT11 Photos on the Willow Hollow Spur off the
Scout Trail in Joshua Tree National Park
This hike starts at a dirt parking lot trailhead just past the West Entrance Station, before you get to hidden Valley.
Looking east from the parking lot, you will see the trail sign for Scout Trail.
The trail meanders through the desert
This rock formation reminds me of the spinx
Left: A Natural Arch along side the trail. Bottom Left: A bush grows out of a pile pile of rocks.
Bottom Right: Vapor trails visible form the trail against a blue sky.
Left: The size of the rocks is amazing. The "bush" in the middle of these rocks is a full Size Tree! The Pile of rocks, the side of mountain.
Mount San Gergonio as seen through the rocks.

A Comprehensive Hiking Guide by Patty Furbush
This guide has trail descriptions and maps. I recommend it. Some times it gets backordered on amazon.com, but it is worth the wait.
These photos were taken on the Willow Hole Hike found in Chapter 16, Hike 3 of this book.
