This trail takes you over Wellman Divide, which is a nice destination itself. It is roughly 11.5 miles round trip, with a gain of 2400 feet. A very scenic hike noted for the views and overlooks it offers, especially at and above Wellman Divide. Be sure to bring lots of film, as it is beautiful up here. Here we are at the Peak The trail from Wellman to the peak offers views that must be seen.  Most of the creeks are dried up. It looks like the dear have gone to find water. We didn't see any deer tracks or signs in the normal places. Only water is at Round Valley Ranger Station at the spring tap. All water must be purified before drinking. Despite this, lots and lots of Wildflowers are in bloom. Skunk Cabbage is in bloom. We saw Red Back Hawks above Wellman Divide at 10000 Feet. The trail from the tram to round valley is a plesent climb. The mile from Round valley to wellman divide is the stepest part. We checked out the Peak cabin and found it in in good condition. Temperatures at peak were in the low seventies at 3:30PM, much hotter below. We Left Tram station at 10:15AM Temp 70F, at peak at 3:15PM. 5 hours up, 2 1/2 down. Weather conditions, Hot, slightly humid, with intermittent clouds.Bring plenty of water and rain gear. (Round trip Roughly 11.5 miles, Elevation Gain 2400)
